Cookies and Tracking
Cookies keep you signed in, save your preferences and show us how our games and pages are doing. Some are essential to run the site. Optional ones run only with your consent.
1. What cookies are
1.1 Cookies: small data files a website drops into your browser. Come back later and the site reads them to recognise that browser.
1.2 We also use similar technologies: pixels in web pages and emails, local storage in your browser, and partner code embedded in our pages. Throughout this page, the term cookies includes all of them.
1.3 Session cookies are deleted when you shut your browser. Persistent cookies stay in place until you remove them or they expire.
2. Managing or switching them off
2.1 The first time you land on the site, you'll see a banner. Use it to say yes or no to each of the three optional groups: functional, analytics and marketing.
2.2 Change your mind whenever you like through the Cookie Preferences link in our site footer.
2.3 Blocking or deleting cookies happens in your browser's settings. Every browser does it differently, so check its help pages.
2.4 Switching off the cookies that are strictly necessary, through your browser settings, means games, sign-in and the cashier no longer work properly.
2.5 Turning a category off does not delete cookies already saved. Clear them in your browser if you want a fresh start.
3. Third-party cookies
3.1 Partners, rather than us, set some of the cookies used on our site. They include:
- Payment services, when you use the cashier.
- Identity and geolocation services, during verification.
- Game studios, when you load their titles.
- Analytics and advertising partners, but only when you have allowed those categories.
3.2 Every partner sets its own privacy terms for the cookies it places. We select partners that meet the standards described on our Your Privacy page.
4. Strictly necessary cookies
4.1 These cookies are essential for the site to operate. They:
- Keep your session live while you jump between pages and games.
- Protect your account and spot suspicious sign in attempts.
- Support the location checks we must run before you play.
- Keep the cashier secure during deposits and withdrawals.
- Balance traffic over our servers so games load quickly.
- Save your cookie choices.
4.2 Because the service depends on them, these cookies stay on whenever you use the site, and they do not need your consent.
5. Functional cookies
5.1 These make the site easier to use. They:
- Remember your language and display settings.
- Save your username for faster sign in, if you choose that option.
- Keep your recently played games and favourites in the lobby.
5.2 You can disable them and the site will still function, though these settings will be cleared each time you visit.
6. Marketing cookies
6.1 These are off unless you say yes. When on, they:
- Note which partner link or ad sent you to Alberta Casino.
- Limit how often you see any given ad.
- Measure whether our campaigns lead to sign ups.
6.2 Marketing cookies are never aimed at any player we know is self excluded or currently cooling off. See how both tools work on our Safer Play page.
6.3 No one under 19 is ever targeted with marketing cookies. Please read our Underage Gambling Policy.
7. Analytics cookies
7.1 These are off unless you say yes. When on, they count page visits, measure load times, show which games get played most and flag errors.
7.2 This data is studied only in aggregate, to solve problems and make the lobby better, never to identify you individually.
7.3 Switching analytics off has no effect on how games play or pay.
8. Changes
8.1 We revise this page when cookies on our site are added, removed or changed, and when the law changes.
8.2 When a change introduces another optional category, the cookie banner will ask you to make your choice again.
8.3 This page always shows the latest version. If you have questions about cookies, write to [email protected] and a member of support will reply by email.
