Underage Gambling Policy
Only players 19 and over can use Alberta Casino. Under-19s can't sign up, deposit or play, and we act fast as soon as we spot a minor.
1. 19+ only
1.1 You must be 19+ to register, deposit, play any game or claim any offer. This includes the welcome free spins and Alberta Rewards.
1.2 Membership is limited to areas where local law permits gambling. Canadian rules govern our age and identity checks and our anti money laundering controls.
1.3 Entering an untrue date of birth is a breach of our Account Terms and triggers the steps in section 3.
1.4 We direct our marketing to adults alone. We avoid characters, themes or channels that are designed to attract children.
2. Shared devices and protecting minors
2.1 Phones, tablets and laptops at home are often used by more than one person. Keep Alberta Casino out of reach of children with these steps:
- Always sign out when your session is over.
- Turn off the password-saving feature in your browser.
- Use a PIN, fingerprint or face unlock to secure your device.
- On a shared computer, give every person their own user profile.
- Protect payment cards, Apple Pay and banking apps with a password or biometrics.
- Do not play where children can watch.
2.2 Whatever is done on your account is down to you. Don't share your login details with anyone, family included.
2.3 Saved logins and browser storage are covered on our Cookies and Tracking page.
3. What we do when we identify a minor
3.1 We shut down the account immediately.
3.2 We void all bets and cancel any free spins or offers. Winnings are not paid.
3.3 Once we have confirmed the payment method's details, deposits are returned to it where the law permits.
3.4 The details used are blocked to stop them from being used to open another account.
3.5 If an adult account holder let someone under 19 onto their account, we shut down that account too. We may also refuse future sign-ups from that person.
3.6 Think a minor is using an account? Email [email protected] with the username or the account's registered email address. We handle every report in confidence.
4. How we check age
4.1 Registration requires a date of birth. Anyone younger than 19 cannot get past this step.
4.2 Before any deposit can be made, we run an electronic check of both your identity and your location.
4.3 If electronic verification cannot establish your age, you will be asked to provide photo ID issued by a government. Accepted documents appear on our Identity Checks page.
4.4 All payment methods have to be registered in the name of the account holder. Any mismatch leads to further checks.
4.5 Prepaid options such as Paysafecard still require a fully verified account. A voucher never replaces an age check.
4.6 We may repeat age verification whenever needed, such as before we process a withdrawal.
5. Parental controls and filtering tools
5.1 Your computer, tablet or phone has its own parental controls: turn them on. They can restrict apps and websites by age classification.
5.2 Install content filtering software or switch on the filters in your home router, so that gambling sites are blocked for every device on your network.
5.3 Set app stores to require your approval before anything is downloaded or bought.
5.4 Talk to children and teens about gambling and how it works. The YMCA Youth Gambling Awareness Program offers support for young people and parents.
5.5 Check your card and bank statements regularly. Look for payments you do not recognise.
